Email Events to Google Calendar
If you want to email events directly on to your Google Calendar, it is easy with FollowUp.cc. You can use any email field – To, CC, or BCC. Let me walk you through the process of getting started, it only takes a few minutes.
How do I set up Google Calendar Integration?
Once you have started your FollowUp.cc Account, Navigate to the AddOn’s page. Select, Calendar Integration. On the Calendar Integration page, you will be able to copy your Calendar feed. Copy this URL.
Once you have your calendar URL, open Google Calendar. On the lefthand menu, select Other Calendars and “Add a URL.” Then paste in your calendar URL and hit submit.
How do I email events to be scheduled on my Google Calendar?
When you want to schedule an item on Google Calendar, simply email the item to the date and time @followup.cc. For example, today I purchased tickets for a trip I am taking on September 17th. I forwarded the email to sept17-10am@followup.cc.
Here is the email I used to schedule this item to my calendar. I will also receive the message in my inbox at that time with any attachments to help with boarding, etc.
What if I want to use the BCC events to Google Calendar?
This is a great use of the system. You set up a lunch appoint for tomorrow and are emailing some to confirm it. Just put the event in the BCC field of the same email and it will be scheduled on your Google calendar – including all the data from your confirmation email.
What if I want to cancel the event?
Canceling an event is easy. Just forward the original message to cancel@followup.cc. Google calendar will not sync immediately, so it might take a little while for your calendar to show this change.
I want the event on my calendar, but I don’t want the email reminder?
If you don’t want email reminders, you can turn off email notifications on your settings page. Keep in mind, this will turn off all FollowUp.cc email reminders though (unless you have your daily summary turn on).
