3 Tips on How to be a Successful Student using FollowUp.cc – A Guest Post
Having been a student for most of my life, I somehow developed some bad habits that have taken a toll in my everyday life. These habits range from forgetting certain homework is due to forgetting about tomorrows test (I know, I’m a terrible student). I’ve gotten better at remembering due dates and prioritizing important tasks, but can still forget even the most important things. While juggling school and work at the same time, I occasionally lose focus on what’s important. However, I was recently introduced to FollowUp.cc and was surprised at how productive I can be with a simple email tool. Let me share with you three general tips that I picked up on while using FollowUp.cc.
1. Create Reminders:
I am constantly swamped with trying to keep up with school, extracurriculars, and internship/work – all while trying to sustain a social life. With such a busy schedule, it can be easy to forget important dates for homework, quizzes or midterms, etc. For example, homework is easily one of the biggest things I can easily forget to complete – and when I do, it’s the night before it’s due.. However, I recently started a habit of using FollowUp.cc to create a reminder that there is that there is a quiz next week, an extra credit event that is coming up soon, or most importantly for me: homework that is due soon. I now rarely find myself doing homework at the last minute.
2. Manage your Notes
The Evernote integration with FollowUp.cc also make organizing notes much easier. I used to clutter my desktop or email account with notes only to lose track of them when I need to review over them for a quiz or test.
With the Evernote integration, I can directly email my notes by tagging the followup tag, and a reminder will be created in FollowUp.cc. I can also send notes or reminders through FollowUp.cc directly to my Evernote account as well by sending an email to evernote@followup.cc.
3. Stay on Track of your Emails
I’m constantly emailing my bosses and professors, and there are many times where they haven’t gotten back to within the time frame I was hoping for.
I would normally forget to follow up with them and realize that if I was more proactive about following up, I would probably get an answer when I wanted. Now that I use FollowUp.cc’s No-Response Email Reminders, I am never behind on a conversation.
I hope by using theses 3 general tips will help make a big difference in organization and professionalism. By ensuring that you are up to date with all your assignments and dates, it makes it an ease to manage the rest of your life.
